Emily's Senior Portraits in Gazebo Park in Downtown Stuart

Luckily for us the weather turned out to be perfect for Emily's senior portrait session.  After having her professional airbrush makeup and professional hairstyling we headed toward downtown Stuart, FL.  The sun would play peek a boo with us throughout our whole time photographing Emily.  At times, it was lovely having the soft sunny glow peek through the trees and other foliage.  We found lovely little nooks and crannies to help block some of the wind.  As we were photographing it seemed like the skies cleared a bit so we were able to head to the park.  One of our favorite features was the lovely gazebo.  The beautiful trees provided just enough shade and the tabebuia trees were in full bloom.  Oh those yellow flowers were so lovely.  Emily wore a darling navy dress with daisies on it and the yellow flowers of the tabebuia trees were the perfect backdrop for those pictures.  Our first stop was in a little alcove not far from the park where we were able to find a hint of sunshine to illuminate Emily's blonde hair.  This is one of my favorite images from that set:

There are so many magnificent images from this session, you can be sure I'll be sharing many more in the days to come.

Fringe - a super fun fashion trend for your senior pictures

So have you noticed all the super fun fringe on many of the items you find in clothing stores?  I've seen it on everything from bikinis to tops to purses, and beyond!  What a great fashion trend.  It's one I would definitely incorporate into my senior portrait photo shoot.  Fringe can be worn in a more neutral palette like the collection I put together on Polyvore (see below) or it can be worn in bright happy colors.  Whatever your look, fringe could definitely be incorporated on some level.  In the collection below I paired it with denim, knit hat, feather earrings and either fringe boots or sandals.  I think it would be such a great look for a beach, field, or park setting photo session.  It has a little bit of a hippy vibe to it, too, especially if you pair it with the feather earrings and beaded and feathered bracelet set.  Can you see yourself dancing around in a field of tall grasses with the fringe and your hair floating in the wind?  Can you see the sunshine peeking through the trees providing a warm and glowing feel to your images?  Yes?  Let's make it happen!  Call, text or email me now to book your session!  Let's create a vibe all your own for your senior pictures!

Flashback Friday to last Spring and Erika's Senior Portrait Photos in Stuart

Last Spring was super busy with all kinds of senior portrait photo sessions.  We were doing photo shoots for both 2013 graduates and the incoming seniors of the Class of 2014.  It never ceases to amaze me that some folks will leave their senior portraits to the end of senior year.  Most high school seniors try to book their sessions for the summer and fall, but we do have some that wait until the Spring of graduation year.
Erika is one of our 2014 high school seniors who had her session last Spring.  Yes, there are some who choose to do their photo session with us quite early, too.  Erika's beautiful hazel green eyes sparkle in every image.  I can honestly say that her photo shoot was one of my very favorites to date.  Jessica, our makeup artist and hair stylist, created a natural look for Erika which just enhances her already beautiful features.  You see, airbrush makeup and natural tones do a perfect job in creating photo ready, photo perfect makeup.  I love that Erika chose to go the natural route because it suits her style.   Here is one of her favorite images from our shoot.
Hazel green eyes and flowers in her hair... a natural, down to earth look for Class of 2014 senior, Erika.
If you have a moment, please leave Erika some love.
I would love to hear from you.  Please email, text, or call me to book your perfect senior portrait photo session with us.  You will love the whole experience and your images will rock your world!

Madi's Mermaid Beach Senior Portrait Session at Coral Cove in Jupiter

There was a vision of something unique and special for Madison's portrait photo session with us.  With her incredibly turquoise blue eyes what could be more perfect than a mermaid inspired photo shoot.  The weather was splendid with barely a cloud in the sky.  The water was at low tide and the beach was delightful albeit more windy than we anticipated.  The stylists went all out on creating her look with mermaid makeup and hair styling.  It truly was magical.  We had a crown out of coral and seashells, a gorgeous dress with lots of sequins (they looked like fish scales... so cool!), and a perfect collection of sea paraphernalia for our accessories.  The photo session was an amazing collaboration among all of us.  Madi, our mermaid, truly loved every second of it.  She was a natural in front of the camera.  She moved with the fluidity of water and grace.  The coral rocks at the beach made the perfect backdrop and helped to shield us from some of the wind.  Other than the long walk to where we wanted to set up for our photo shoot, it was perfect.  I have to give props to my assistant for carrying all of the heavier equipment such a long distance to where we ended up shooting.  Thanks J!
One of Madi's favorite images from our photo session is this one:

Happy Birthday to my Sweet Like an Oreo Cookie Son

The single most important role of my life has been raising my sons.  To say I adore them, well, that's not even a tenth of how I feel.  I am so blessed.  My middle son, Phillip, is a sweet and kind person.  He's so patient with others, especially the elderly.  He has a gentleness about him that people respond to.  He was sooo darn cute when he was little.  Oh my gosh... and into everything.  I used to kid around and say the G-d knew what he was doing when he made Phillip so cute because otherwise...  you get my drift.  He wasn't bad... just mischievous.  He was constantly taking things apart and figuring out how to put them back together.  He loved CareBears and Winnie the Pooh... heck, who doesn't love those characters?!  Well, it's Phillip's birthday today so I went through some photos from when he was little and put a few together in a little collage.  I'm so grateful to have so many photos of my own children.  I often look through their albums and reminisce.  Of course, it's a staple on Thanksgiving weekend - when I host family and friends for our annual shindig.
Did you notice his chipped front tooth?  Yeah, one of those white-hair making mommy moments.  A story for another day.
Happy Birthday Phillip!  I love you to the moon and back!  xo Mommy

Orange Crush -- Our Spring 2014 Favorite Fashion Trend for Senior Pictures

Wow, that's some intense color!  Do you love it or hate it?  Well, I've got a crush on orange... this Spring's hottest fashion accessory.  Now, I'm not saying to wear it and look like a pumpkin. Instead, use it to accessorize and update your favorite outfits.  I love the little pop of color orange can bring to an outfit.  I would love to see a pop of orange with a casual outfit, perhaps with a denim or chambray shirt, or add a pop of color to a neutral beige, white, or gray.  I bet it would make you smile and feel good all day, like a ray of sunshine.
As for your portrait session, I think orange would make the perfect addition to one of your outfits.  If you want a more bold look for your senior pictures, try a dash or orange lipstick.  Kick up your heels in style with a pair of high heeled pumps in orange.  Maybe you want to add a pop of color to your senior pictures in a more subtle way... try adding a pair of earrings or a watch or bracelet in orange.
How do you dream of being photographed?  Will orange be your new crush?

Carmen's Studio Senior Portrait Session in Stuart

So much of what I do is from the heart.  I just love working with my high school seniors creating an exceptional senior portrait photography experience for them.  I remember when I was in high school and how impersonal the senior portrait photo sessions were.  The lackluster images and lack of creativity in the portraits certainly did not make for a unique and personalized experience.  I remember how I felt getting my senior portraits done, too.  I always felt awkward as  a teenager and the "cattle call" style of the photo session made me feel even more so.  My main reason for specializing in modern portraiture for high school seniors was so I could show them and make them feel just how perfectly beautiful they are.  It's my mission, so to speak.  So many times I see my girls turn around in the makeup chair, see themselves for the first time, and cry.  Then again, at their Premier Ordering Session, they cry some more (along with mom and dad).  My seniors are so overwhelmed with their incredible experience and beautiful portraits that it has a lasting effect on them... in an absolutely positive way.  It almost seems as if they glow during this time.  Right from the very first phone call inquiring about our photography services we want our seniors to feel special, valued, important, individual, and most of all.... know that they are beautiful!  What better way to celebrate your high school senior year with glorious portraits that will last a lifetime?!
Carmen is one of our Martin County High School Class of 2014 seniors.  She is such a treasure.  We've photographed Carmen in our studio and on-location.  She loves her portraits so much, she keeps coming back for more!  She's a natural in front of my lens.  Here is one of our studio portraits in both color and black & white.  Which one do you like better?  I'd love your feedback so please leave me a comment below.

Thanks, Carmen, for being a dream client.  We know you will take the world by storm.  xo

High School Senior Photography of Ryanne Wearing an Elegant Blue Dress

As high school senior portrait photographers we strive to make every session unique and personalized.  It's so important to us that our seniors not only LOVE their photos, but LOVE the experience as well.  We want to ensure that they come away with feeling like they've been walking on the moon.  What's important to you in your senior portraits?  We'd love to hear from you!
We were excited when Ryanne arrived at our studio for her portrait session.  She chose a glamour in-studio session to complement her elegant blue gown.  She truly is a dream to photograph... I mean, look at her.  She is a natural in front of the camera.  I just love her style, too.  She's elegant, but not overdone.  Her makeup looked amazing thanks to her friend and makeup artist Kaitlyn Mary Rice.  We loved working with Ryanne. This image is my personal favorite from our session.
Gorgeous green eyes and elegant blue gown on high school senior Ryanne.  She is perfection!
We're so proud that Ryanne chose to work with us!  Thanks for rocking it out, girly!!!  xo
On another note, if you haven't already picked up the March issue of Marie Claire magazine, you should run out and get it.  It is chock full of great fashion and great articles!  In particular, there is a write up of women business owners:  how they started, their passion, how they make it work, etc.  It's terrific reading.  I am so inspired by these women.  One of my favorite online stores is Modcloth.  Modcloth and it's founder/ owner, Susan Gregg Koeger, are a part of this article.  It's a great read and great place to shop for your senior portrait fashion!  Check it out - page 198.  The whole section in the magazine is titled "@ Work", and features a number of other women entrepreneurs who will surely inspire you, too!
