Graffiti Inspired Senior Portraits | West Palm Beach FL photographer

It all started with a glimpse at an amazing wall of art.  From this, an idea was born... a huge idea!  After months and months of planning for this graffiti inspired senior portrait photo shoot it finally came together on a hot and muggy summer day.

We started off at the salon where the salon staff worked their magic on hair and makeup for the first elegant look.  Then, Jessica came with us on-location in West Palm Beach to create this second, more edgy look.  I just love how their hair and makeup turned out!

The crew all wore black and white for their basic pieces.  Pops of color were added primarily through accessories and shoes.  Everyone coordinated well by using the black and white to tie it all together.

Senior pictures that are fresh, captivating, and fashion-inspired is my style.  Finding unique and interesting locations help to make each senior's pictures distinctive and special.  A senior portrait experience with me is unparalleled and epic!

This is one of my favorite images from our group shoot.  Honestly, I love all of the pictures!  It's probably because I adore each and every one of these high school seniors!  They are an amazing group of young people!

Breast Cancer Awareness Photos | Stuart FL photographer

Today marks 25 years since my beautiful mother passed away from breast cancer.  I've had so many mixed emotions about this today.  The day prompted me to look for photos of my mom and me together while I was growing up.  I found only a few.

It made me so sad.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her like crazy.  She was a beautiful and loving person.  We spent a lot of time together, as mothers and daughters do.  So where are the photos?

I found one from when I was a baby.  It's one I had already created a scrapbook layout with (and was published in a scrapbook magazine).  I found only a couple of others that were so blurry or faded that you could barely even tell it was us.

I went through so many albums and photo boxes today, looking for some photos.  Even photos of just my mom seemed to be nearly non-existent.  Surely at some point we must have had family photos taken. I know we went to some family events where we had family pictures taken.  I keep asking myself, "Where are they?"

As a photographer, and as the family memory keeper, I can't believe I never realized this lack of pictures before.  Also, I can't believe that I haven't done more with my own family, to make sure that we have family photos.  Yes, we have some pictures.  But now I realize we don't have enough.  And I realize that I have been behind the camera too often, and not in the pictures with my family enough!

Well, this is going to change.  From here on out, I vow to be in pictures with my boys, my husband, my father and step-mother, and others who are important in my life.  What about you?

In an effort to raise awareness of this problem, one of moms and daughters not being in enough photos together, I am offering a contest on Instagram, for high school senior girls in the class of 2015.

Here is the image that I posted on Instagram today along with the details of the contest:
lBreast cancer awareness - take photos with your mother!
This is what I wrote on Instagram:  25 years ago today my beautiful mother passed away from breast cancer. After looking through numerous albums and boxes I realized there are virtually no pictures of the two of us together. It made me so sad. Because of this I decided to offer a very special giveaway to one #2015seniorgirl and her mom. You will win a photoshoot, makeover, and 16x24 gallery wrapped canvas for you and your mom. Here's what to do: follow me on IG, comment (in IG) about how special your mom is, repost this post, and tag me. On October 8th I will select the winner. Must be within 25 miles of Stuart, FL
So if you happen to know a high school senior girl that you think would like to have a professional photoshoot, makeover, and gallery wrapped canvas for her and her mom, please send her to my Instagram page.

And please give your mom a huge hug.  Whether you live in Stuart, FL or  Anchorage, AK or anywhere in between or beyond, make sure your mom knows how much you love her.  You never know when life may take "that" turn.

One more thing, check you ta-ta's!  It's so very important.  Breast cancer isn't something to take a chance with.  Get the girls checked!  It can save your life!

Thanks for stopping by today!  ~
