Welcome to 2015! I hope you are all having a stupendous start to your new year. We've got some big changes coming, including a new website that will be officially launching in the next month. In the meantime, I'd like to thank you for stopping by to chat!
2014 was a most interesting year. I had so many incredible opportunities come my way. I was blessed to work with a delightful group of high school seniors in the class of 2015. They amaze me every day and I feel so fortunate to have worked with these lovely, dynamic, young ladies.
Not only did we accomplish a phenomenal model shoot out, with images I am still working on (yes, there were so many that I just love that I have slowly been working on a few at a time), but we also had an unbelievably fun fashion show in conjunction with Francesca's Boutique and my seriously amazing hair and makeup team at Besos Salon.
The girls rocked out their looks at both events. Jessica and Lindsay worked their magic with hair and makeup. I couldn't have asked for a better, more generous group. I adore them all!
So now it's on to big plans for 2015. I have a big model shoot out planned with my incredibly talented photographer friend, Cristina, during March in Miami. I can't wait! We've been collaborating on our ideas and I am so psyched!
I'm also expanding my focus a bit so you will see a little more variety in the photography genres that I am offering. My whole mission is to empower girls and women. I'm taking it to the next level.
And of course, I can't leave out the excitement of photographing 2016 seniors. Helping my seniors see how absolutely stunning they are, inside and out, brings so much joy to me. I can't get enough of it! Giving them an experience they will treasure all their lives is what motivates me every single day. I love love love my job!!!!
I have a number of friends in Jupiter, FL whom I will be collaborating with on a few personal photography projects. Just to keep it fresh and learn and grow. I'll be doing some senior pictures of a different kind...
On a personal level, our family has many wonderful events to look forward to this year including my oldest son's wedding, my youngest son's college graduation, and my middle son's technical school graduation. Big life events! Do you think I need a photographer???? LOL!
This brings me to my word for 2015. Every year I choose a word as my guide in all that I do for the year. I try to choose something that will help me stay focused on something I want to work on in my life. So this year, my word is.... drum roll please... NOW. Yup, my goal is to be present and live in the now. With all that's going on this year, I think this is perfect for me. Don't you?
So thanks for stopping by today! I really appreciate that you've taken the time to visit with me. Let 2015 be all you hope it to be!

Glamorous Beach Senior Pictures | Jupiter FL photographer
Senior pictures can be so much fun and so creative! As the wind was blowing... and I mean blowing, we dashed through the sand to make sure we got all the photos we wanted. The sky was so threatening but it made an interesting backdrop.
There are so many beautiful beaches here in the South Florida area. Especially in Hobe Sound and Jupiter, the beaches are just glorious. Not only can the water sparkle with the most tantalizing ocean blues, but the sand and the natural hardscape add to the allure of a beach photo shoot.
Emily's glamorous beach shoot was something we had been planning for quite awhile. She wore the turquoise dress for prom, which is what started this whole idea. Marilyn Monroe inspiration was there as well. Emily looked so spectacular in her outfits.
My favorite was the 1950's style bikini. I just love how her hair and makeup complement the genre. The red lips really kicked it to the next level. Jessica and Lindsey did an amazing job on that! As always! Love those girls!
Despite the severely overcast day, here are some of the spectacular images from Emily's glamorous beach senior pictures session.
There you have it. Emily looks amazing in this little sneak preview of her glamorous beach senior pictures session.
Are you ready to book your unique, fashion-inspired senior pictures? Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Hobe Sound, or Stuart, anywhere on the Treasure Coast or the Palm Beaches can be accommodated. Give me a call or send me an email. Let's chat and set up your distinct, personalized senior portrait photo shoot.

Breast Cancer Awareness Photos | Stuart FL photographer
Today marks 25 years since my beautiful mother passed away from breast cancer. I've had so many mixed emotions about this today. The day prompted me to look for photos of my mom and me together while I was growing up. I found only a few.
It made me so sad. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her like crazy. She was a beautiful and loving person. We spent a lot of time together, as mothers and daughters do. So where are the photos?
I found one from when I was a baby. It's one I had already created a scrapbook layout with (and was published in a scrapbook magazine). I found only a couple of others that were so blurry or faded that you could barely even tell it was us.
I went through so many albums and photo boxes today, looking for some photos. Even photos of just my mom seemed to be nearly non-existent. Surely at some point we must have had family photos taken. I know we went to some family events where we had family pictures taken. I keep asking myself, "Where are they?"
As a photographer, and as the family memory keeper, I can't believe I never realized this lack of pictures before. Also, I can't believe that I haven't done more with my own family, to make sure that we have family photos. Yes, we have some pictures. But now I realize we don't have enough. And I realize that I have been behind the camera too often, and not in the pictures with my family enough!
Well, this is going to change. From here on out, I vow to be in pictures with my boys, my husband, my father and step-mother, and others who are important in my life. What about you?
In an effort to raise awareness of this problem, one of moms and daughters not being in enough photos together, I am offering a contest on Instagram, for high school senior girls in the class of 2015.
Here is the image that I posted on Instagram today along with the details of the contest:
Here's the link: http://instagram.com/amy_tara
And please give your mom a huge hug. Whether you live in Stuart, FL or Anchorage, AK or anywhere in between or beyond, make sure your mom knows how much you love her. You never know when life may take "that" turn.
One more thing, check you ta-ta's! It's so very important. Breast cancer isn't something to take a chance with. Get the girls checked! It can save your life!

Senior Pictures What to Wear Tips | Stuart Portrait Photographer
They're your favorite pair of jeans and you want to wear them for your senior pictures. However, they've become a little tattered and worn. Never fear, it's the fashion... dare I say senior portrait fashion, to wear ripped jeans. It's part of the street style look.
If you are looking for tips on what to wear for your senior pictures, this is one that you can have fun with. Who doesn't love a good comfy pair of jeans? Senior portrait style should reflect who you are at this incredible and singular time in your life. If ripped jeans and street style speak to you then that is the what you should wear in your pictures.
This street style trend can take on so many looks. Whether you're a fashion forward senior who loves lace and a little more refined look, pair the jeans with a lace tip and a blazer or jacket. Or, put some lace on the inside of the ripped area so it shows through the gaps.
Perhaps you want a more casual look for your senior pictures. Add a simple crisp white button down blouse or white tee. Accessorize with some chunky metal jewelry, and you've got a more street look. Whatever direction you choose for your senior portrait wardrobe, these tips will guide you through.
Here are a few fashionable looks for ripped jeans. All of the images were found on Pinterest.
All of the items on this what to wear guide are located on my Pinterest board titled ripped jeans. Take a peek for more inspiration and to locate where these items came from.

So let's see, will it be a park, an old hotel, a brick wall, or beach... or maybe, someplace new? Hmmm. I can't wait to see how today unfolds.

Senior Photos with Emily | Portrait Photographer in Stuart FL
Emily was such a natural in front of the camera. Her senior portrait session went off flawlessly. The sun was shining, it wasn't overly windy, and everything was so green and fresh. Even the air seemed to smell like sunshine.
For her senior pictures first outfit, she wore the loveliest lace pink dress. It was such a great color on her and was perfect for the backdrop of all the greenery. The contrasting colors enhanced the whole look and really made her pop off the page, so to speak.
Every senior portrait session is special to me. Each of the seniors I photograph becomes a friend. I pour my heart and soul into their senior portrait experience because I really want each senior to know how truly magical they are at this time in their lives.
Emily was, is, no exception. She is so intelligent, and kind, and beautiful, and... well, I could go on and on. Most of all, she is genuine! That is such an important quality and so rarely found today.
I have so many incredible images from her senior photo shoot that I decided to do several posts, by outfit. Here are some of her gorgeous senior pictures in her pink lace dress. I have a crush on the dress.... seriously! And the incredible senior wearing it is pretty crush-worthy herself!!
So there you have it... Emily in her gorgeous pink dress during her senior portrait experience with us. The park and surrounding areas were wonderful, the weather was perfect, and the senior... well, the pictures speak for themselves. <3
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at Emily's senior portrait session. Won't you leave Emily a little love in the comments sections below? You're sweet!
We'd love the opportunity to work with you to create a very special senior portrait experience you will remember for a lifetime!

Group Senior Pictures with Graffiti and Tulle in Palm Beach
We held our group senior portrait Elite Models shoot a few weeks ago in West Palm Beach. It was EPIC! All of our 2015 seniors did such a great job, despite the humid, hot, and long day. The pictures are to die for and I am having such a hard time deciding which ones to keep and retouch for display. It's a good conundrum to have!
Each girl wore a tulle skirt with chambray or denim top for our first look. They looked so beautiful. Jessica and the rest of the talented staff at Besos Salon did an amazing job on their hair and makeup. I love the soft and feminine look on the girls for the first concept. (Wait until you see the other concept!)
I found a couple of very cool graffiti places and we were able to get to several of them. The one in this image is huge and so diverse... there are so many cool colors all across it. We got so many different looks just at this one location because of the variety in the graffiti and the surrounding hardscape.
Here's a glimpse into the amazing senior pictures we got that day.
More pictures will be coming soon... but I just couldn't wait to share at least one! Seriously, I just can't tell you how absolutely fabulous each and every one of these seniors was. The guys were so patient while the girls had their hair and makeup done... kudos to them!
Are you looking for your senior portrait photographer? Give me a call or email me... let's schedule a spectacular, personalized senior portrait experience just for YOU!

Native American Headdress and White Horse for High School Senior Pictures in Palm City
Alice chose to have her high school senior portrait LUXE session with Thoroughbred horse, Sky, and her white feather Native American headdress. She wore a white boho inspired outfit along with gold accents in her jewelry. The gold tips on the white feathers of the headdress were the perfect finishing touch.
With all of Sky's strength and power, Alice had a challenge controlling him for us to get the pictures we were looking for. Photographing a horse is definitely an interesting experience. There are a number of outtakes from this photo shoot that I will cherish forever because I caught Alice laughing and making faces at the horse when he would not cooperate. They are truly some fun pictures.
We were so lucky to have found a ranch that allowed us to photograph on their property. Even after we finished the Native American boho them of the LUXE session, we stayed there to photograph Alice in some of her other outfits... one more stunning than the next.
I must admit, this is probably my favorite portrait session to date. My lens LOVES Alice! I can't wait until she comes over for her image premiere!
This is one of my personal favorites from Alice's photo session.

Beautiful South Fork High School Prom Couple in Stuart FL
I had the distinct pleasure of photographing this lovely South Fork High School Prom couple, Grace and Buddy. They stopped by Gazebo Park in Stuart to have their pictures taken. I just love Grace's soft pink gown and Buddy's matching bow tie. They both looked beautiful (handsome) and were so charming to work with.
Here are a few of the images I captured during their Prom photo shoot.
I appreciate all the sweet couples (and friends) who stopped by to have their Prom pictures taken with us at Gazebo Park. We loved seeing all of the seniors dressed up for their special evening.
If you haven't had an opportunity to visit downtown Stuart, you should really make some time to stroll through the shops and beautiful parks that are located in the area. There are wonderful restaurants there, too. It's a charming place!

Emily's Senior Portraits in Gazebo Park in Downtown Stuart
Luckily for us the weather turned out to be perfect for Emily's senior portrait session. After having her professional airbrush makeup and professional hairstyling we headed toward downtown Stuart, FL. The sun would play peek a boo with us throughout our whole time photographing Emily. At times, it was lovely having the soft sunny glow peek through the trees and other foliage. We found lovely little nooks and crannies to help block some of the wind. As we were photographing it seemed like the skies cleared a bit so we were able to head to the park. One of our favorite features was the lovely gazebo. The beautiful trees provided just enough shade and the tabebuia trees were in full bloom. Oh those yellow flowers were so lovely. Emily wore a darling navy dress with daisies on it and the yellow flowers of the tabebuia trees were the perfect backdrop for those pictures. Our first stop was in a little alcove not far from the park where we were able to find a hint of sunshine to illuminate Emily's blonde hair. This is one of my favorite images from that set:

Orange Crush -- Our Spring 2014 Favorite Fashion Trend for Senior Pictures
Wow, that's some intense color! Do you love it or hate it? Well, I've got a crush on orange... this Spring's hottest fashion accessory. Now, I'm not saying to wear it and look like a pumpkin. Instead, use it to accessorize and update your favorite outfits. I love the little pop of color orange can bring to an outfit. I would love to see a pop of orange with a casual outfit, perhaps with a denim or chambray shirt, or add a pop of color to a neutral beige, white, or gray. I bet it would make you smile and feel good all day, like a ray of sunshine.
As for your portrait session, I think orange would make the perfect addition to one of your outfits. If you want a more bold look for your senior pictures, try a dash or orange lipstick. Kick up your heels in style with a pair of high heeled pumps in orange. Maybe you want to add a pop of color to your senior pictures in a more subtle way... try adding a pair of earrings or a watch or bracelet in orange.
How do you dream of being photographed? Will orange be your new crush?

Senior Style Guide Posing Article by Yours Truly | High School Senior Portrait Photographer
High School Senior Portrait Photography is my LOVE! And I've got something super special to share with you! I'm soooo excited!!!! I can finally spill the beans and give you a little sneak preview of my "big deal"! I've written an article on posing high school senior girls for Senior Style Guide magazine. I feel so incredibly humbled (with a gazillion exclamation points here, too!) that my article was chosen to be included in their January 2014 issue!!! I've loved this site and their magazine since its inception. There are so many talented professionals associated with the magazine. I still haven't come down from cloud nine since I found out that my article will be in there with all the professional senior photographers whom I so admire. I pinch myself daily! And wait until you see the amazing cover image by the very talented Chelsea Atkins... to die for gorgeous!
Here's a little peak at what you will see for my article.
The article is about techniques and posing ideas to use during your senior sessions to flatter and enhance any body type. The article is jam packed with little tidbits I have picked up along the way in my own photography journey. I hope you'll take a few minutes to check out Senior Style Guide. It's an awesome resource for photographers. And don't forget to order the magazine as soon as it is released. It is chock full of great articles and images sure to inspire you in your photography journey!
